Specialty Services
Sometimes, your smile needs a little extra care beyond the surface.Whether it’s replacing a missing tooth, addressing jaw discomfort, or making a procedure more comfortable, we’re here to help. Our office offers speciality services such as sedation, nitrous, and strong maxillofacial experience to treat issues involving the mouth, jaw, and face. At Dr. Lara-Grimaldi’s Dental & Orthodontics, we will walk you through every step with compassion and care to make sure you feel as comfortable and confident as possible.
Dental Implants
If you’re missing a tooth, a dental implant is one of the most natural and long-lasting ways to replace it. A small titanium post is placed in your jawbone to act like a tooth root, and a custom crown is attached on top, blending seamlessly with your natural teeth. Implants help keep your jaw healthy and your smile strong, as well as look and feel just like the real thing!
Sedation & Anesthetics
We understand that visiting the dentist can feel nerve-wracking, especially for more involved procedures. That’s why we offer different types of sedation to help you feel calm, relaxed, and pain-free during your visit. Whether you need something light or deeper sedation, we’ll tailor your care to what makes you feel most at ease.
Local Anesthetic
Local anesthetic is used to numb a specific area of your mouth so you don’t feel pain during a procedure. It’s commonly used for fillings, extractions, and other routine treatments, and wears off shortly after your visit.
→ Nitrous Oxide
Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide is a gentle, fast-acting way to ease nerves. You’ll breathe it through a small mask over your nose and feel calm, relaxed, and maybe even a bit giggly during the appointment – but you’ll be fully awake and able to drive yourself home afterward.
→ Intravenous (IV) Sedation
IV sedation is a deeper form of relaxation used for more involved procedures like wisdom teeth removal or dental implant surgery. It’s given through a small vein in your arm and helps you stay in a calm, dreamlike state. Because it’s stronger, this type of sedation requires the patient to be driven home, and is currently only offered for wisdom teeth extractions.
→ Wisdom Teeth Extraction
Wisdom teeth (also called third molars) often don’t have enough room to grow properly due to how the shapes and functions of the human body have evolved over time. This can lead to pain, crowding, or infection. If your wisdom teeth are causing trouble – or might in the future – we can help remove them to protect your oral health. We’ll walk you through the process, discuss your sedation options, and help you recover comfortably.
